You know that
whole “New Year, New Me” shtick? It’s totally not me. Sure I would love to join
the clean eating movement and participate in the paleo livestyle and pretend to
be gluten-free, but I can’t. So I’m just going to keep being the old me (maybe
with the addition of a few more veggies and sit-ups). And new old me still
likes to eat and bake and indulge.
So I had a duck
fat grilled cheese and salty fries late night at the Pig
& Prince.

And I tried to balance
out the “bad” with some “good” wholesome and healthful breakfasts on ig.
And I baked kamish
bread and experimented with apricot preserves and stiff raisins while the
boy was working hard on a Saturday afternoon.

And I went on an
greasy early dinner date at Umami Burger
that got cut short but was too long on truffle.

And I forced my
Food Fun kiddies to make ice cream sundaes for their last day of the activity,
with too many oreos, sprinkles gummy bears and most definitely far too much
whipped cream and chocolate syrup.

And I watched my
mom make vegetable lasagna and ate a ton with no shame whatsoever.

Oh boy! Looks
like Friday again, thank goodness. Since school has started up again, the weeks
feel like they drag by and weekends are not nearly long enough. Middle
schoolers can deffo wear you out. For this #FlashbackFriday, I am reflecting on
some of the tasty things I have eaten in the last few months via instagram. Check
out some of my favorite snaps!
In honor of #TBT aka Throwback Thursday and as we get closer to the end of 2013, I am
sharing some of my favorite food photos from my instagram. It is incredible how time is flying by, but looking back
at photos sparks certain things. These are those small moments that we take for
granted in a culture of instant gratification. But for me that does not mean
instantly forgotten. I can remember exactly where I was, how the air smelled,
how the food tasted on my lips, from texture to flavor to feelings incited.
Photos for me are just snapshots of memories that linger on my tastebuds and
fingertips, a way of recreating and reliving what shouldn’t be lost.
And I hope you
will all follow along on facebook, instagram, twitter and now pintrest if you don’t already! I do appreciate all the support!
